The Mazzarella Lab is a synthetic chemistry research group based in the Department of Chemical Sciences and Technologies at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Our research interests span the development of innovative radical-based methodologies, leveraging the powerful synergy between electrochemical tools and asymmetric catalysis.

The core mission of our group is to provide the synthetic community with efficient, robust, and sustainable platforms for the construction of complex molecular architectures. By utilizing electricity as a clean and versatile reagent, we aim to uncover previously unexplored reactive pathways and reactive intermediates. Our approach integrates rigorous mechanistic investigation with the design of novel catalytic systems, ensuring high levels of stereocontrol and functional group compatibility. We strive to push the boundaries of organic synthesis, delivering transformative tools that address the modern challenges of chemical manufacturing and molecular discovery.
